Solar
Even after this long on the road (Oct ’21) I’m still learning more about solar and how to manage my power systems. Here is what I have:
I have 200w on the roof and another 200 suitcase with a 100ah house battery and 2 Bluettis, a 250 and a 500. While in AZ over the winter my batteries would be full by 10am and I’d run the Starlink off of it as long as the house was staying full. I have a Victron battery monitor to watch it. I charge the Bluettis off the house battery (I know it isn’t the most efficient but it works.) or sometimes other places. The Starlink is the biggest power pig and I use it because in some places with no or little cell, as long as I have a clear view of the sky, it’s always good. That said, it does take a lot of power so I watch over it. During the summers I’m in the upper midwest so trees are a thing and it’s annoying so I also have 60gig of Verizon hotspot off my phone as needed. Whew.
